Choose your exact wheelchair before measuring. WUMIBOX models use different diagrams and size ranges. A back height, rear-leg height, chest circumference and straight hip width are different measurements; one cannot replace another.
Find your model
- Compact four-wheel full support — Height, straight body width and body length at the points in this chart
- Large rear-support wheelchair — Chest girth, front-to-rear leg distance, front-leg spacing, width, length and height
- Small rear-support wheelchair with mesh harness — Chest circumference and front-to-rear leg distance first; check the shared frame range

- Front-leg support wheelchair — Back height, hip width, body length and chest girth for the harness
- Full-body support wheelchair — Rear standing height, shoulder-blade-to-tail-base length and chest girth
Take the measurements the chart asks for
- Open the product’s current size chart and use its marked start and end points. Have a soft tape, a ruler for straight widths, and a helper ready.
- Use a level, non-slip surface. Measure in the position shown for that model. If your dog cannot stand comfortably, ask your veterinary team how to support them safely and send support photos; do not calculate standing height from a lying-down measurement.
- Record the actual measurements and their units. Keep the tape comfortably against the coat without tightening it or adding an automatic allowance. Frame clearance and harness adjustment are checked separately.
- Recheck any measurement that looks inconsistent. Compare every required dimension in one size row, not weight or breed alone.
The tables below use the centimetre figures printed in the source charts. Weight references keep the source unit. Reference weight is an additional check, not proof of fit or a tested maximum load. Product-selector options and charts were checked September 30, 2026.
Compact four-wheel full support
Dog Wheelchair for Disabled Dogs – Full Body Support
- Measure vertically from the floor to the back at the rear point shown by the height line.
- Measure straight across the body at the width point shown in the front view. Width is not a tape wrapped around the body.
- Measure the straight body length between the front and rear marks in the side view. Leave out the head and tail.

XS-Wide is a separate size with different height and length ranges; it is not simply an XS with extra width. These dimensions belong to this compact model, not the larger full-body model below.

- Wrap the tape around the chest at the girth line shown behind the front legs.
- Measure the straight front-to-rear leg distance along the line beneath the torso. Record front-leg spacing separately; do not substitute body width for it.
- Record the width, length and standing height at the diagram’s marked points, and compare all six columns for the proposed size.

The width, length and height entries are reproduced as the ranges printed in the product chart. They are not universal body clearances or load ratings. The illustration does not mark front-leg spacing separately: send a front-view photo to support if its measurement points are unclear. M and L share the same listed width, length and height ranges but have different girth and leg-spacing limits.

Small Dog Wheelchair for Back Legs – Lightweight & Adjustable
- Measure chest circumference around the torso at the line shown behind the front legs.
- Measure straight between the front and rear leg points under the torso, as illustrated.
- Use both measurements to compare XS, S and M. Then check the frame’s shared adjustment information rather than assuming the size letter changes every frame dimension.

The chart gives the same frame ranges for all three sizes: width 15.5–22 cm, length 24.5–35 cm and height 17–30 cm. Its inch and centimetre width entries do not convert exactly, so the centimetre figures are transcribed here without replacing them with a calculated inch range. Ask support to confirm a boundary fit.

- Measure straight across the hips as shown from behind. The table’s “Tip” heading corresponds to “Hip” in the diagram.
- Record the length between the side-view marks and check it together with height and hip width.

The current product selector lists XS, S, L and XL. The image also includes other size labels, including M; do not assume those can be ordered from this listing. The image’s weight-reference column does not state a weight unit, so this guide does not turn it into a kilogram fit limit.
Front-leg support wheelchair
- Measure vertically from the floor to the back at the point marked near the shoulders in the illustration. This is not floor-to-groin leg height.
- Measure straight across the hips and the body length between the chart’s side-view marks.
- Record chest girth at the illustrated line for harness confirmation. The table does not publish a chest-girth range.

The chart’s XXL row corresponds to 2XL in the product selector. The image also shows XS Wide, which is not currently listed as a selectable option. Front support describes the support arrangement; wheel count alone does not identify it.
Full-body support wheelchair

- Measure rear height from the ground to the top of the back while the dog is standing in the position shown.
- Measure body length straight from the shoulder blade to the base of the tail.
- Measure chest girth around the widest part of the chest. Keep this value for harness confirmation: the size table has no numerical chest-girth or hip-width limits.

The chart’s XXL label maps to the 2XL product option. S (Lower) and M (Lower) appear in the image but are not currently selectable variants. A long, low or broad-bodied dog may need fit confirmation even when height and length fall inside a row.
If two dimensions point to different sizes
Do not select a larger size automatically. Check whether all required measurements fit that model’s row and whether the proposed harness and frame can be adjusted for your dog. Some product charts suggest the larger size between rows, but this does not resolve a width, chest or length mismatch. Contact us before ordering if no single row fits, a point is unclear, or your required size appears only in the image.
What to send for a fit check
- Product name or link, proposed size, and the measurements requested by its chart, with cm/in and kg/lb written explicitly.
- A side-view photo and a front- or rear-view photo showing the measurement points, taken without forcing the dog to stand.
- Which limbs need support, whether the dog can step with the remaining limbs, and any restrictions your veterinary team gave.

Common measurement questions
Can I use the size letter from another wheelchair?
No. XS and S describe ranges within a specific model. Even the two full-support WUMIBOX models use different charts.
Is chest girth the same as width?
No. Girth is a circumference around the chest. Width is a straight distance across the body or hips at the point shown. Use the measurement named in your chart.
Should I add extra centimetres for fur?
Record the body measurement first. Do not add a fixed amount to every measurement. If the coat or body shape makes a point hard to see, send a photo for model-specific advice.
Can I use a lying-down rear-leg measurement?
Only if the manufacturer of that exact model asks for it. For example, Walkin’ Wheels uses its own lying-down rear-leg method. That measurement is not interchangeable with the standing back-height lines in these WUMIBOX charts.
What happens after the wheelchair arrives?
