Compare dog hip braces and lift-assist harnesses

Hip support products can differ in where they sit, how much of the rear body they cover and whether they include a handle. This collection includes hip-focused braces as well as a rear-leg support harness; selected designs include lift assistance. Compare the individual product descriptions and photos to see which design matches the support your veterinarian has discussed.

Compare coverage and features

  • Hip-focused braces: Review the product images and instructions to see how the brace wraps around the hip and rear body.
  • Lift-assist designs: Some products include a handle to help a person assist a dog. The handle’s intended use and limits are product-specific.
  • Rear-leg harness support: A harness-style option may provide different coverage from a hip wrap. Check how it is positioned and secured before choosing.

The models in this collection do not all share the same size range or construction. Current size labels span S–XXL across different products, but a size that fits one model may not fit another. Select the product first and follow its own chart and instructions, including tape placement and posture guidance, rather than choosing by breed or weight alone.

Fit, lifting and supervised use

Before use, check that the product sits as directed and does not interfere with your dog’s comfortable movement or toileting. Designs vary, so do not assume that every brace has the same openings or handle arrangement. If a handle is included, use it only as described by the manufacturer; do not assume it is intended to carry your dog’s full body weight.

Ask your veterinarian whether a hip support or lift-assist product is appropriate for your dog and how to use it alongside other care. Monitor the skin and coat for rubbing, pressure marks or swelling. Stop and seek advice if the support slips, causes discomfort or your dog’s mobility worsens.

Questions to settle before checkout

  • Where does the product sit, and how much of the hip or rear leg does it cover?
  • Does the exact model include a lift handle, and what does its wear guide say the handle is for?
  • Which measurements does that product’s chart require, and what is included in the selected option?
  • If the product slips or your dog appears uncomfortable, what adjustment or return guidance is provided?

Common questions

Answers before checkout

Collection-level answers guide selection; product-specific requirements stay on the product page.

How do I choose the right size?

Use the size chart on the exact product page you are considering. Product designs can use different measurement points, so follow that chart rather than a general estimate.

Can I choose by breed or weight alone?

Breed and weight can be useful references, but they are not a substitute for the measurements listed on the product page. Check the product-specific chart before you order.

What if I am unsure about the right product or size?

Compare the coverage and size-chart requirements on the product pages, then review the relevant return and support information before ordering.

Can a mobility product replace veterinary care?

No. A mobility product is not a substitute for diagnosis or treatment from a qualified veterinary professional. Contact your veterinarian for sudden, severe, or worsening symptoms.
